“I AM THE VINE; YOU ARE THE BRANCHES. IF YOU REMAIN IN ME AND I IN YOU, YOU WILL BEAR MUCH FRUIT; APART FROM ME YOU CAN DO NOTHING.”

John 15:5

OUR HOMESCHOOL FELLOWSHIP

Table for TeaWe are a group of families who homeschool. We have found it increasingly difficult to stay true to the call to homeschool while continually being pulled from one class to the next; one activity to the other; one sporting event to the next; or one playdate to the other. So many GOOD things to choose from, but at a cost; the cost of being together, as a family, learning and growing and communicating.

Vineyard Homeschool Fellowship offers fellowship opportunities which enrich your homeschool and demand only as much time and attention as you are willing to give. We have chosen to use the Charlotte Mason philosophy of education as the inspiration for our activities.

We think Charlotte Mason’s “extra-curricular” activities (not considered “extra” in the CM world…but rather essential enrichment & leisure) work well in a group setting and will enhance the learning you’re doing at home.  We don’t require or expect those who join to adapt their homeschooling to this methodology, but believe that all will be benefited by the natural learning experience which is the nature of a CM education.

We embrace the “few but consistent” ideal for our fellowship. We strive to offer just enough so that moms are able to fellowship with each other and children are able to gather together regularly enough to form good and solid friendships, but not so much that you are pulled away from “home” schooling. Our monthly, quarterly, occasional, and annual fellowship opportunities are intentionally planned for meaningful fellowship. We are seeking after the joy that comes from Deuteronomy 11:19: “Teach them [God’s Words] to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”

OUR LEADERS

MRS H

Mrs. H has been homeschooling since 2000 and has since graduated 6 of her 9 children. Her family has participated in the gamut of homeschool affiliations, from charters to umbrella schools to paid community programs to independent filing. All have served them well for the time the Lord had them there and she is thankful for the wide-range of opportunities He has provided for her family on this homeschooling journey.

As primary teacher and manager of their homeschool, Mrs. H has invested much time and energy into the study of educational philosophy and practice. She LOVES Latin and enjoys sharing her love of the language with students when given the opportunity. She also continues to pursue her own education through the Association of Classical Latin Schools Classical Teacher Certificate program, Memoria Press College, and ACSI’s professional development.

As the administrator of Vineyard Country School and President of the Board of Directors of Vineyard Homeschool Fellowship and Vineyard Homeschool Sports Club, she is often working behind the scenes; but hopes to continue to put her homeschool experience to good use by supporting the homeschool families that the Lord brings through each of these programs.

MRS I

Mrs. I is happy to be serving on the Vineyard Homeschool Fellowship Leadership team. She serves as our communications coordinator, as well as Nature Day and Park Day coordinator. She has enjoyed leading our weekly Run Club for the past four years and is looking forward to another year as Head Run Club Coach. Lauren and her husband grew up together in Temecula and are blessed to be homeschooling their three children in this wonderful community. Her favorite part of their homeschool day is savoring a hot cup of coffee during family devotions in their rich morning time.

MRS L

Mrs. L is honored to teach Fine Arts Friday Art Class. She has been homeschooling her four children for about six years, all of which have involved participation in Vineyard and Fine Arts Friday. Art has always been a meaningful part of her life, deeply impacting the way she relaxes, expresses creativity, and marvels at the artistry of God! Her goal for each student at Fine Arts Friday is to learn a variety of accessible techniques that they can take home and make their own through practice.
