What is Mom Culture, you ask? I think Sally Clarkson probably coined the term, but Karen Andreola explains it well, here: http://www.home-school.com/Articles/mother-culture-you.php
For Vineyard Country Homeschool Fellowship purposes, it will be our time to fellowship with moms, expand our intimate knowledge of a Charlotte Mason education, and maybe develop a new hobby or two along the way.
Our Mom Culture evenings are scheduled on the 1st Tuesday of the month, beginning in September. This will be a child-free (nursing babies are the exception :-)) gathering so we can focus on learning something new in the hopes that we can share that knowledge in our homeschooling.
We’ll probably start out with watercoloring since nature journaling is such a significant part of a CM environment. But we also hope to get started with our own Book of Centuries, do some oral narration, and of course drink tea and listen to classical music. We hope these monthly events will be Inspiring, Refreshing, and Fulfilling! And, of course, we are open to suggestions, so please let us know if you have any ideas for our Mom Culture calendar.
Keeping it REAL.
